refreeze
Return to freezer
To refreeze is to freeze something again after it has thawed.
Food safety guidelines often warn against refreezing meat that has fully defrosted: Can I refreeze this chicken, or do I need to cook it now?
The term also applies to bodies of water or ground that freezes again after a temporary thaw.
