red phone box
London telephone kiosk
A red phone box is the iconic British public telephone booth, painted in a distinctive bright red.
These enclosed kiosks, featuring small glass panes and a domed roof, became symbols of Britain from the 1920s onward.
Though largely obsolete for their original purpose, many remain as heritage landmarks, repurposed as miniature libraries, defibrillator stations, or tourist photo opportunities: We posed for pictures by a red phone box in London.
