rail drinks
Cheapest bar liquor
Rail drinks are cocktails made with the cheapest liquor a bar stocks—the bottles kept within easy reach on the bartender's speed rail rather than displayed on shelves.
When you order a vodka tonic without specifying a brand, you get whatever's on the rail.
Also called well drinks: The happy hour special is two-dollar rails.
