radical right
Extreme conservative faction
The radical right encompasses political movements and ideologies positioned at the extreme end of conservatism, typically characterized by intense nationalism, opposition to immigration, rejection of established political institutions, and hostility toward liberal or progressive values.
Unlike the mainstream right, the radical right often challenges democratic norms while stopping short of the outright authoritarianism associated with the far right or fascism: The radical right gained seats in parliament by channeling economic anxiety.
The term overlaps with but is distinct from far right and alt-right, with boundaries that shift depending on who's drawing them.
