Quick bread is any bread leavened with baking powder or baking soda rather than yeast, allowing it to be mixed and baked immediately without rising time.
Muffins, banana bread, cornbread, and biscuits are quick breads.
The term distinguishes them from yeast breads, which require kneading and patience: I made a quick bread since we didn't have time for anything fancier.
