proselytise

Spread your faith

To proselytise is to try to convert someone to a religion, belief system, or cause.

The word carries a pushy connotation—proselytising often feels unwelcome: Nobody wants to be proselytised to at a dinner party.

It extends beyond religion to any zealous advocacy: He proselytises for veganism at every opportunity.
