prepurchasing

Ordering before availability

Prepurchasing is buying something before it becomes generally available or before you actually need it.

Video game companies offer prepurchasing to let customers pay in advance for titles not yet released: I prepurchased the game to get the bonus content.

The term also applies to buying supplies or materials ahead of anticipated demand or price increases.
