pot holder

Kitchen burn preventer

A pot holder is a thick pad of fabric or other heat-resistant material used to protect hands when handling hot cookware.

Usually square and quilted, pot holders hang near the stove for grabbing pot handles, lifting lids, or removing dishes from the oven: I burned my hand because I couldn't find a pot holder.
