popedom
Vatican's supreme authority
Popedom is the office, dignity, or tenure of a pope: His popedom lasted only thirty-three days.
By extension, it can refer to the realm of papal authority or the institution of the papacy itself.
The word is somewhat archaic, more likely encountered in historical texts than contemporary usage.
