Sistine

Michelangelo's ceiling location

Sistine is an adjective referring to any of the popes named Sixtus, but in practice it appears almost exclusively in Sistine Chapel—the papal chapel in Vatican City famous for Michelangelo's ceiling frescoes and *The Last Judgment*.

The chapel was built under Pope Sixtus IV in the late 15th century.
