ponce

Prostitute's kept man

Ponce is British slang with two distinct meanings.

It can mean a pimp—someone who lives off a prostitute's earnings—and to ponce off someone is to sponge or freeload: He's been poncing off his mates for months.

Separately, ponce is a derogatory term for an effeminate or ostentatious man: Don't be such a ponce.

Both uses are offensive, though the second is more common in casual insults.
