swanning

Drifting about aimlessly

Swanning is moving about in a leisurely, aimless, or self-satisfied manner, often with an air of showing off.

The word is chiefly British and usually carries a note of disapproval—someone who swans around isn't working or contributing: She's been swanning about Europe all summer while we're stuck here.

To swan off is to leave casually, without concern for responsibilities left behind.
