pollinizers
Plants enabling reproduction
Pollinizers are plants that provide pollen for fertilizing other plants.
The term is common in orcharding, where certain apple or pear varieties serve as pollinizers for others that can't self-pollinate: We planted crabapples as pollinizers for the orchard.
Distinguished from pollinators, which are the insects or animals that transfer the pollen.
