plastic explosives

Pliable detonation material

Plastic explosives are malleable explosive materials that can be shaped by hand, making them useful for demolition, military applications, and unfortunately terrorism.

The plasticity comes from mixing explosive compounds with oils or waxes.

C-4 and Semtex are well-known types.

Plastic explosives require a detonator to explode—they won't ignite from fire or impact alone.
