pitching rotation
Mound staff order
A pitching rotation is the set of starting pitchers on a baseball team who take turns beginning games in a fixed sequence.
Most teams use a five-man rotation, giving each pitcher four days of rest between starts: He's the ace of the pitching rotation.
The term also refers to the order itself: They shuffled the rotation after the trade.
