pertinency

Quality of mattering

Pertinency is the quality of being relevant or applicable to the matter at hand.

The word is a slightly more formal variant of pertinence, with identical meaning: The judge questioned the pertinency of the evidence.

Both forms describe how directly something relates to the topic under discussion.
