relevancy

Connection to matter

Relevancy is the quality of being relevant—connected to or bearing on the matter at hand.

The word is interchangeable with relevance, though relevance is more common in contemporary usage: The judge questioned the relevancy of the testimony.

Some style guides prefer relevance, treating relevancy as slightly old-fashioned or redundant.
