penwoman
Woman who writes
A penwoman is a woman who writes, whether professionally or with skill.
The term parallels penman but sees little use today, as writer serves both sexes.
When it appears, it often carries a slightly old-fashioned or deliberately feminine emphasis: She was known as a penwoman of considerable talent.
