patriotic films
Nation-celebrating cinema pieces
Patriotic films are movies that celebrate national identity, military service, or foundational values of a country.
The term usually implies an approving stance toward the nation depicted—war films honoring soldiers, historical dramas about founding figures, or stories of national triumph.
Whether a film counts as patriotic often depends on the viewer's politics: Some called it patriotic; others called it propaganda.
