pastoral advice
Shepherd's spiritual counsel
Pastoral advice is guidance from a religious leader—typically a priest, minister, or rabbi—on spiritual, moral, or personal matters.
The term comes from pastor, literally a shepherd, evoking the image of a clergy member tending to their congregation as a shepherd tends a flock: She sought pastoral advice after her father's death.
The advice addresses faith, ethics, grief, or life decisions within a religious framework.
