spiritual direction
Sacred life coaching
Spiritual direction is a practice in which a person meets regularly with a trained guide to discuss their inner life and relationship with God or the sacred.
The director listens, asks questions, and helps the seeker notice patterns in prayer, discern decisions, or navigate spiritual struggles.
Unlike therapy or confession, spiritual direction focuses on growth and awareness rather than problems or sins: She's been meeting with a spiritual director for three years.
The practice appears across Christian traditions and has parallels in other faiths.
