parking boot
Tire-locking enforcement device
A parking boot is a heavy metal clamp that law enforcement or parking authorities lock onto a vehicle's wheel to immobilize it, typically for unpaid parking tickets or other violations.
The car cannot be driven until fines are paid and the boot is removed.
I came back to find a parking boot on my front tire.
Also called a wheel clamp or Denver boot.
