A paragraph mark is the typographical symbol ¶, used to indicate the start of a new paragraph or section.
In word processors, it appears when formatting marks are visible, showing where paragraph breaks occur.
Editors and proofreaders use it in manuscripts to mark where text should be divided into separate paragraphs.
Also called a pilcrow.
