page boys
Young ceremony assistants
Page boys are young male attendants, typically at weddings, who carry the bride's train or walk in the processional.
The term also refers to a smooth, chin-length hairstyle with the ends curled under, popular in the mid-twentieth century and named for its resemblance to the bowl cuts worn by medieval pages.
The page boys walked solemnly down the aisle scattering rose petals.
