flower girls
Young wedding attendants
Flower girls are young girls who scatter flower petals along the aisle at weddings, walking ahead of the bride.
The role is ceremonial and decorative, typically given to daughters, nieces, or other young relatives of the couple: My niece was the flower girl at our wedding.
The term also refers to women who sell flowers on the street, now largely historical.
