overtuned
Adjusted beyond optimal
Overtuned describes something adjusted or optimized past the point of balance, making it too powerful, sensitive, or extreme.
The term comes from gaming, where an overtuned character or ability dominates unfairly: That weapon is completely overtuned—it needs a nerf.
It applies to any system calibrated beyond its ideal settings: The algorithm is overtuned for engagement and pushes outrage content.
