overtrains
Works out excessively
Overtrains means to train too much or too intensely, to the point of diminishing returns or harm.
Athletes who overtrain risk injury, exhaustion, and declining performance: She overtrained before the marathon and couldn't finish.
The concept applies beyond athletics to any skill where excessive practice backfires.
