deload

Ease training load

Deload is a planned period of reduced training intensity, typically in weightlifting or athletic programs.

After weeks of progressively heavier workouts, athletes deload to allow muscles and joints to recover before the next training cycle: I'm taking a deload week before starting my new program.

The term functions as both noun and verb: Time to deload and let my body catch up.
