overtire
Wear out completely
To overtire is to exhaust beyond a healthy or sustainable level.
The word applies especially to children who become fussy and irritable when kept awake too long: An overtired toddler is harder to put to sleep, not easier.
Adults overtire themselves through overwork or insufficient rest.
