overstriding
Landing too far
Overstriding is taking steps that are too long, especially in running.
When your foot lands too far ahead of your center of gravity, it creates a braking force that wastes energy and stresses joints.
Running coaches warn against it: She was overstriding, which explained her knee pain.
The fix is usually shorter, quicker steps.
