overrepresented

Excessively present proportionally

Overrepresented describes something present in greater proportion than expected or appropriate.

A demographic group might be overrepresented in a profession, a survey sample, or a prison population relative to their share of the general population: Women are overrepresented in nursing but underrepresented in surgery.

The term often appears in discussions of equity and statistical sampling.
