overmind
Unified group intelligence
Overmind refers to a collective or superior intelligence that transcends individual minds—a consciousness that encompasses or controls lesser beings.
The term appears primarily in science fiction, where it often describes alien hive minds or godlike entities: The overmind directed the swarm with a single purpose.
It can also describe any dominant guiding intelligence, whether literal or metaphorical: Corporate strategy seemed to flow from some invisible overmind.
