overmen

Workers' direct supervisors

Overmen is the plural of overman, a term from Nietzsche's philosophy (German *Übermensch*) referring to a superior human who transcends conventional morality to create new values.

The concept influenced existentialism and, through misappropriation, Nazi ideology.

Outside philosophy, an overman is simply a supervisor or foreman, especially in mining operations.
