overkills

More than necessary

Overkills is the plural of overkill, referring to multiple instances of excessive force, effort, or action beyond what's necessary to achieve a result.

The term originated in military contexts describing nuclear capacity far exceeding what would be needed to destroy a target, but now applies broadly to any situation where someone goes overboard.

The presentation had so many overkills—three pie charts for one data point, animated transitions on every slide.

Each separate instance of excess counts as an overkill.
