overadaptation
Too much conforming
Overadaptation is adapting so thoroughly to present conditions that flexibility is lost.
In biology, a species that overadapts to a specific environment becomes vulnerable when conditions change.
The concept extends to organizations, strategies, or individuals who optimize so completely for current circumstances that they can't respond to new ones: The company's overadaptation to the domestic market left it unable to compete globally.
