outbluffing
Winning through deception
Outbluffing is defeating someone by bluffing more effectively than they do.
In poker, you outbluff an opponent by convincing them to fold a better hand: She outbluffed him with nothing but a pair of twos.
The term extends to any competitive situation where deception or false confidence wins: The smaller company outbluffed the industry giant in negotiations.
