orb-weavers
Circular web spinners
Orb-weavers are spiders that construct circular, wheel-shaped webs with radiating spokes and spiral threads.
The name describes their signature architecture—the classic spider web of children's drawings and Halloween decorations.
Orb-weavers are generally harmless to humans and include thousands of species worldwide.
An orb-weaver had built its web across the garden path overnight.
