octahedra
Diamond-shaped geometric forms
Octahedra is a plural of octahedron, a three-dimensional geometric solid with eight triangular faces.
The most familiar octahedron is the regular octahedron, which looks like two pyramids joined at their bases and appears in dice sets and crystal formations.
The mineral crystals formed perfect octahedra.
The alternate plural octahedrons is also common.
