nonself

Body rejects this

Nonself refers to anything recognized as foreign or external to one's own identity.

In immunology, nonself describes molecules or cells the immune system identifies as not belonging to the body—bacteria, viruses, transplanted tissue: The immune system attacks nonself antigens.

In philosophy and Buddhism, nonself (anattā) is the doctrine that no permanent, unchanging self exists.

More broadly, nonself can mean anything outside one's sense of identity: The boundary between self and nonself blurs in meditation.
