news tickers
Bottom-screen text stream
A news ticker is a scrolling display of headlines or brief news items, typically running horizontally across a screen.
Television news channels run tickers along the bottom of the broadcast.
The format originated with stock tickers that printed prices on paper tape.
Now tickers appear on websites, in apps, and on digital signage: I caught the score on the news ticker.
