nerd out
Dive deep passionately
To nerd out is to enthusiastically immerse yourself in a subject you find fascinating, especially one others might consider obscure or technical: We nerded out over vintage synthesizers for hours.
The phrase suggests joyful, unself-conscious engagement with passionate interests—embracing rather than hiding one's inner nerd.
