neovascular
Fresh blood vessel
Neovascular describes the formation of new blood vessels, typically where they're abnormal or unwanted.
The term appears most often in ophthalmology, where neovascular conditions threaten vision: neovascular age-related macular degeneration, neovascular glaucoma.
Tumors promote neovascular growth to feed themselves with blood supply.
