neck massage
Shoulder-adjacent muscle work
A neck massage is the manual manipulation of muscles in the neck and surrounding areas to relieve tension, reduce pain, or promote relaxation.
The neck holds particular stress from poor posture, desk work, and emotional tension: I need a neck massage after staring at my computer all day.
The term sometimes carries suggestive undertones, as offering someone a neck massage can serve as a pretext for physical intimacy.
