navy shower
Water-conserving wash
A navy shower is a water-conservation technique: get wet, turn off the water, lather up, then rinse quickly.
The practice originated on naval vessels where fresh water was limited.
I learned to take navy showers when we went camping.
Also called a military shower or combat shower.
