nanobodies

Camelid-derived immunoproteins

Nanobodies are small antibody fragments derived from camelids—llamas, alpacas, and camels—whose immune systems produce unusually compact antibodies.

At roughly one-tenth the size of conventional antibodies, nanobodies can reach biological targets that larger molecules cannot access.

They're used in research, diagnostics, and emerging therapies: Researchers developed nanobodies that block viral entry into cells.
