music notation
Notes on staves
Music notation is a system of written symbols representing musical sounds—pitch, duration, rhythm, and dynamics.
Standard Western notation uses a staff of five lines where notes indicate what to play and for how long: She sight-reads music notation fluently.
Other systems exist, including tablature for guitar and various traditional notations worldwide.
