Multitap is a text input method used on devices with limited keys, especially older mobile phones.
Each key corresponds to multiple characters, and you tap repeatedly to cycle through them—pressing 2 three times produces "c." The system dominated mobile texting before touchscreen keyboards.
Multitap also refers to an adapter that connects multiple game controllers to a single console port.
