multiple exposures
Overlapping image technique
Multiple exposures is a photographic technique where two or more images are superimposed on a single frame, creating layered or ghostly effects.
Originally achieved by exposing film more than once before advancing, it's now often done digitally: She created multiple exposures of the city skyline at different times of day.
The term also describes repeated contact with something harmful: multiple exposures to toxic chemicals.
