multiculturalists

Multiculturalists are people who advocate for or support multiculturalism—the view that diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious groups should coexist within a society while maintaining their distinct identities.

The term appears most often in political and academic contexts, where it may be used neutrally or pejoratively depending on the speaker's stance.

Multiculturalists argue that assimilation policies erase important cultural heritage.

Critics sometimes use the term dismissively to characterize those they see as prioritizing diversity over national unity.
