multicasting
One-to-many data delivery
Multicasting is transmitting data to multiple recipients simultaneously through a single transmission.
In networking, it's more efficient than sending individual copies to each destination: The video stream uses multicasting to reach thousands of viewers without overwhelming the server.
The term contrasts with unicasting (one-to-one) and broadcasting (one-to-all).
